Registration for the 2020-2021 season is now open at your Portal for the Dance Studio Pro.
To ensure every dancer’s safety, we have adjusted in-person classes and will offer all of them online at the same time. With in-person classes, we allow no more than five students in the lower studio and seven in the upper studio so that the safe distance of 10 feet can be maintained among dancers. Barres and other frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected between classes. The changing areas will be closed off and the classes are staggered to avoid any jam in the traffic inside the facility. Students will be required to follow the safety protocol including wearing masks all the time. We will also install air purification systems by the start of the season.
Dancers at greater risks can take classes remotely from the safety of their home. We have installed a webcam on the back wall of the upper studio and will use it along with a computer set next to the instructor, so that anyone taking the class through Zoom can have a full view of what’s going on in the studio. We will set up another camera for the lower studio as well as microphones for both.
Our season classes include Ballet from Ballet Fundamentals (for ages 5-6) to the Advanced level, Modern I (for ages 5-7) to III (for ages 14-18), and Hip Hop I (for ages 8-14) and II (for ages 14-18). Along with the skilled faculty who continue to serve next season, we are happy to welcome Iris Berkman, an experienced and beloved teacher of creative dance, who will teach Modern I.
For adults, we will once again offer 8-Week Intro to Ballet starting on September 10, as well as drop-in Advanced Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced Ballet, both on Mondays. Please be aware that, due to the maximum enrollment limits, anyone who wishes to take these drop-in classes must pre-register online for the particular dates they want to come.
We are also very excited to announce that our own talented alumna, Anna Plummer will teach drop-in Zumba classes this season! Anna is a certified Zumba instructor and will offer two classes, Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening, again both in person and online.
