Pointe and Variations

Accessible to beginning pointe dancers as well as those who are more advanced, this workshop will include strength and alignment exercises, foot care and injury preventions, and an assortment of classical ballet variations that will be adapted for all ranges of experience and ability.

Instructors

Madeleine Bonn

Madeleine Bonn was a principal dancer with with José Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA, for 14 years and has also performed abroad in Romania and Mongolia. She holds a teaching certification from American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.

Bonn is the Artistic Director of Amherst Ballet and teaches dancers of all ages and at all levels.

Christianna Kavaloski danced professionally for 20 years with classical and contemporary ballet companies including Boston Ballet and Joffrey Ballet. She received her dance training from Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Boston Ballet School, the School of American Ballet (SAB) and the Ailey School. She is an experienced teacher and coach proficient in multiple pedagogies, and has choreographed numerous original works. She has taught for Boston Ballet School, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Albany Berkshire Ballet, and several private schools and colleges. Since 2005, she has directed a school for aspiring professional ballet students.

Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, July 8

eligibility and Fees

Student: Ages 12 and up   *Intermediate student with at least four months of pointe training

Registration Fee: $50 (Due at the time of registration)
Tuition: $270 (Full payment due by July 1)

A limited number of scholarships are available.
In order to secure a spot for your student, you must register and pay the $50 registration fee and then submit your scholarship application. If the amount of aid we offer is not enough to make participation possible for your family and you cancel within two weeks of aid notification, we will refund your registration fee in full.

Clicking the “Register” button will take you to our Parent Portal site. You’ll be required to make a free account if you don’t already have one. In the home page of the portal, click on “Register for Classes.” This workshop is under the “2022 Summer Workshops” tab.

In the home page, click “Register for Classes.” –> Choose the one you would like to take and click “Submit.”

To pay the tuition, click  “Account” at top of the screen and choose “Pay Online” in the drop down menu. –> Choose “Other” and click “Next.” –>  Put “12” in the pay amount and finish the payment.

You’ll receive the link to the Zoom class via email.
