Young Performers Workshop

Dancers will refine their ballet technique and learn how to apply it in performance. Each day will begin with a 90-minute technique class to develop strength, skill, and coordination in classical ballet technique. Following that class will be either a stretch & conditioning class to give dancers the tools to develop the strength and flexibility that ballet requires (on Tuesday and Thursday), or a music for dancers class to develop their sense of rhythm, melody, and harmony so that they can hear and interpret the music they dance to (on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Finally, the day will conclude with repertoire, and dancers will present what they have learned in an in-studio showing at the end of the week.

Recommended for ages 8-12
(dancers outside of this age range allowed at instructor’s discretion)

August 12-16, 9am-1pm

Tuition: $400

This week-long intensive gives dancers the chance to focus in on their technique and performance skills in a supportive and energetic environment. Dancers will begin each day with a two-hour technique class to hone their skills and develop their strength and stamina, followed by an hour of pointe technique. Following a lunch break, the day will continue with either a stretch & conditioning class to help dancers develop the knowledge to build the flexibility and strength that ballet requires (on Tuesday and Thursday), or a music for dancers class to help dancers develop their knowledge and comprehension of the standard ballet scores (on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). The day will conclude with repertoire, and dancers will present what they have learned in an in-studio showing at the end of the week. .
