Adventures under the Sea

Explore deep sea with your imagination and awesome dance moves! Participants will learn ballet techniques, enjoy ocean related games, and create a mini performance to be presented on Friday.

For ages 5-8
July 13-17, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon

Tuition: $200 ($50 due at the time of registration)

World of Dance

Love dancing? So do people all over the world! Learn about dances of various cultures while polishing your ballet techniques.

For ages 9-11
July 20-24, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon

Instructor: Kelly Torza Fawell
Tuition: $200 ($50 due at the time of registration)

There will be a short outside performance  at 12:00 pm on Friday.

  • No previous experience required.
  • To ensure safe distance between participants, the maximum enrollment is set at 7.
  • Participants must be free of any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days prior to the workshop.
  • Participants and their parents will be required to wear masks and follow the safety protocol.
  • We may cancel either of the workshops if there is not enough enrollment by July 6.

Mucuy Bolles

Mucuy is a former soloist and principal dancer with Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and many other companies. .

She currently teaches at the New England Center for Circus Arts and Brattleboro School of Dance

Milissa Payne Bradley

Milissa Payne Bradley

Milissa is a professional dancer, award winning choreographer, and sought out yoga teacher based in California. 

She believes yoga offers the opportunity for inspiration, community, and self-reflection by opening up the possibility of connecting to what we already have, to who we already are and the options of what is yet to come. 

Catherine Fair

Catherine served as the Executive Director of Amherst Ballet from 2000 to 2011. 

During her tenure, AB received numerous awards and grants, but her greatest joy was imparting a love of music, dance, and performance to children. She began her study of Pilates in order  to benefit AB dancers and prevent injury, and eventually became a certified Stott Pilates Instructor.

Adele Fisk

A workshop centered on the pedagogy of Alonzo King, artistic director of Lines Ballet.  In this contemporary ballet class we will explore the ways in which artistry and technique impact each other and how we, as individual artists can mine that relationship for all its potential. We will dig into the rigor of technical precision while encouraging our sense of play and risk.

Liam Fitzpatrick

Liam is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in Boston. 

He is also the co-founder and resident choreographer of 5124 Productions, a production company focused specifically on the creation of cinematic dance works.

Liam will be teaching a contemporary workshop at Amherst Ballet, which will pull from elements of contemporary, jazz, ballet, and commercial genres.

Junichi Fukuda

Junichi is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and faculty member of Amherst Ballet.

In his workshop, he will share his choreographic study based on the concept of defining invisible paths and directions. It will focus on renewing the students’ awareness of their physical and psychological relation to space. 

Caitlin McCloskey-Meyer

Caitlin McCloskey-Meyer

Caitlin received her early dance training through
the Brattleboro School of Dance, before receiving a BFA in dance from Adelphi University. 

While living in New York City she danced with Douglas & Co and worked and taught for Mark Morris Dance Group. She also received her RYT-200 hour yoga certification through Yoga to the People, teaching for their studios and then her own virtual classes.

Stephanie Shumway

Stephanie is a faculty member of Deerfield Academy and Amherst Ballet.

She loves to help her students improve their bodies through her knowledge of the human anatomy, stretching and strengthening. With her teaching style that is enthusiastic yet demanding on precision and correct body alignment, Stephanie is one of the most popular instructors at Amherst Ballet.
