LEVEL HIGH I: For this Beginning Ballet class,, students should already be familiar with the "basics" (positions, vocabulary, class exercises and format) of ballet/dance (see Introduction to Ballet for Adults, Levels I and II). Class meets 1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks UPPER STUDIO $130/ 6-weeks or $18/session
Extensive previous training required. Students will have a solid grasp of all ballet positions, movements, directions, and terminology, as well as possessing an understanding of proper classical technique, alignment and form. Dancers will gain confidence performing multiple turns, jumps with batterie, and advanced sequences.
Some previous training required. Students will gain an understanding of all ballet positions, movements, directions, and terminology, and will concentrate on proper alignment, strength, flexibility, and turnout throughout all movements. Pre-Pointe exercises will be incorporated into class time.
This is an 6-week course designed to teach adults the beginning basics of ballet technique as well as proper and healthy bio-mechanical body alignment. Students will learn basic ballet positions, vocabulary, and class exercises with an emphasis on alignment and musicality. $130/ 6-weeks or $18/session
A class exploring the fundamentals and applications of classical modern technique. Moving through a codified class model, students will learn the individualized movement vocabulary of classical modern while honoring the ability to find freedom within discipline and individuality within uniformity. Previous training recommended.
